The Life Projector
Like its cousin The Spirit Box, The Life Projector uses Victorian-era optical effects and mathematically-based procedural animation techniques to create the illusion of ephemeral glowing life-forces in a collection jar. In contrast to The Spirit Box, here the viewer perceives the illusion to appear outside the cabinet. The Life Projector is intended as to be an evolving work, with new objects appearing in the jar over time. In this first incarnation we observe captured luminescent undersea creatures.
